Neil Alan Petkow died in Clearlake, WA on July 18, 2015, from injuries sustained in a dune buggy accident. He was born December 27, 1960 in Harbor City, CA to Raymond and Donna Petkow. He was raised in Los Angeles and began a thirty-year career with the Department of Defense, working in Long Beach, CA. In July 2008 he transferred to NAS Whidbey, working as an instrument technician on the EA-18G Growler. He was married to Yukiko Sato on December 28, 2006. Neil was a member of the International defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and the NRA.

Neil is survived by his wife Yukiko and his mother Donna Petkow, by one sister Susan Perticone and by one niece Amanda Perticone and one nephew Gage Bennett.
