Obituary for Lloyd Edwin Hackerott

Lloyd Edwin Hackerott, born in Alamosa, CO on Monday, April 12, 1937, died in Oak Harbor, WA on Saturday, April 16, 2016 peacefully and surrounded by family.

Lloyd enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1955, served one tour in the Vietnam War, then volunteered for a second, and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant on Whidbey Island, WA in 1975.

Lloyd loved the Whidbey Island area and all it had to offer. He liked to fish, hunt, pursue other outdoor activities, and tend the small Hackerott family farm.

Lloyd is survived by Mary, his wife of 57 years, his children, Walter, Rebecca, Carl, Kim and their spouses, his brother Carl, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Private services were held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Wallin Funeral Home with Chaplain David G. Lura, USNR (Ret) and U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard presiding.
