Obituary for Vicente Mamaril

Vicente Eclar Mamaril was called by his Savior Jesus Christ on November 7th, 2017, in Oak Harbor, WA. His wife Carmen of 51 years preceded his death on July 3rd, 2013.

Vicente was born in Subic, Zambales, Philippines, on October 8th, 1933, where he worked as a professional driver until moving to Yokosuka, Japan, in 1995. In 2005, he moved to Oak Harbor, where he resided until his death.

He is survived by his oldest daughter Maria Victoria and her husband Tom, his youngest daughter Gerlie and her husband Charles, and his three grandchildren Charles Vincent, Richard Anthony and James Nicholas. He is also survived by his older sister, Dominga Dulatre of Toronto, Canada, and younger brother Antonio Mamaril of San Diego, CA. As well as his niece Rosario Mamaril Mendoza, her husband Amado and their 3 children, his grandchildren Cylina and Neil, who cared for him during his stay in the hospital in the Philippines, and Amyrose of Melbourne, Australia.

Vicente will always be remembered for his great fondness of cha-cha dancing, western and action movies, and his love of music from both Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Those closest to him can also attest to his deep humor and charm.

A viewing service will be held at Wallin Funeral Home on Friday, November 10th, and funeral mass on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church followed by graveside service at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
