Dear Val,
The lessons I learned with Sandy as my coach at Inverness and the Toledo Club went far beyond swimming. Sandy taught us all the values of teamwork, resilience, and spirit. His talents as a coach turned so many into champions---not only in the pool, but also in life. I am very grateful for Sandy's influence during my childhood, and I send my heartfelt sympathies to his family.
