Obituary for Allen "AJ" D Roark

Allen “AJ” D. Roark Jr (age 42) of Oak Harbor Washington left this world behind on Saturday September 30, 2023 very unexpectedly in Bellingham Washington, creating a giant sized void in the hearts of his family and friends. Born to Edna (Biggs) and Allen Roark Sr on June 23, 1981 in Peoria Illinois. Where he later attended Richwoods High School. He moved to the Pacific Northwest in January of 2022 to begin new life adventures.

AJ fiercely loved his family and friends, and leaves behind his parents Edna and Allen Roark in Peoria Illinois, his children: Dalton and Emily of Princeton Illinois, Emma of Lacon, Illinois, Fiona of Peoria Illinois, a granddaughters Audrey and Lizibeth, (his bonus children) Kenny, Luci and Brooklyn and his partner Lynnette of Oak Harbor Washington.

He loved children and animals, and would have adopted the whole world if he could have. He was an uncle to all of his friends’ kids and cherished every rubber duck or art project given to him. He enjoyed watching wrestling, Cowboys football, and Cardinals Baseball and listening to music. He loved gift giving, brainstorming ideas, tinkering with things, problem solving with his friends, and just being there to help any way he could. He also loved planning and going on new adventures.

He enjoyed working as the Exterior lead tech at the Swinomish Casino and giving the guys a hard time about the winter temperatures “not being that cold”.

His memory will continue to resonate with the reminder to live life to the absolute fullest and to love people.

There will be a celebration of life on October 27 from 11-2 at the Swinomish Casino 13 Moons Lounge Restaurant.
