Obituary for Barbara A. Johnson
Barbara Alma Johnson, also known as BJ, passed away on November 14, 2023, in Bellingham, Washington, at the age of 71. She was born on July 10, 1952, in Monterey, California, to the late Rex Nelsen and Barbara (Winters) Nelsen.
BJ dedicated over 40 years of her life to Whidbey General Hospital, where she worked as a Quality Review professional. Her commitment and expertise were invaluable to the hospital and the healthcare community. Outside of her career, BJ had a passion for various hobbies. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and listening to books. She found joy in spending time with her loved ones during family gatherings, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever. BJ leaves behind her beloved husband, Larry Johnson, her daughter, Jessica Tuff, her son, Christopher Johnson, her sister, Celeste Nelsen, her sister-in-law, Suzanne Nelsen, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
A viewing will be held at Wallin/Stucky Funeral Home, located at 1811 NE 16th Avenue #A, Oak Harbor, WA, between the hours of 11:00 am and 4:00 pm on December 7, 2023. This will be an open casket viewing, allowing friends and family to pay their final respects to BJ.
In honoring BJ's memory, her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice.
