Obituary for Dale R. Lowery

Dale R. Lowery, 72 passed away peacefully at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA with family by his side on May 5, 2023, at 10:30pm. Dale was born to Raymond and Margaret Lowery on May 13, 1950 at Sea Plane Hospital in Oak Harbor, WA. Dale graduated from Oak Harbor High School in the class of 1969.

Dale enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1971 and served 20 years as a refrigeration & air conditioning specialist and retired as an E6 at McChord Air Force Base in 1992. When stationed in Alaska with his brother Harvey, they loved fishing and hunting together, the pair also enjoyed cars and motorcycles.

Following retirement Dale lived in Oak Harbor and worked at the gallery golf course as a groundskeeper. He was an avid golfer and spent many days golfing with longtime friend Richard Kuhn, people that know them say they seemed more like brothers. Richard and his wife Donna Marie would have him for dinner, talking about the days gone by and planning their next golf date.

Dale had a long-time relationship with Judy Slayer, her memories of him will forever be dear to her heart.

Dale is survived by his sister Darlene (James) Foster, brother Harvey (Karen) Lowery, a niece Lynsey Lowery, nephews Eric (Laura) Foster and Robert (Jessica) Lowery and one great niece Aleesia. Dale is proceeded in death by his parents Raymond and Margaret Lowery.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors that were part of Dales care in the ICU and critical care unit at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA.

There will be a celebration of Dales wonderful life along with the United States Air Force rendering honors on Wednesday July 19, 2023, at Wallin-Stucky Funeral Home located at 1811 NE 16th Ave Oak Harbor, WA.
