Obituary for Lawrence Schaffer

Lawrence W Schaffer (Larry) 80 of Oak Harbor, WA, passed away on October 5th 2022 at Skagit Valley Hospital with his beloved wife Virginia Schaffer by his side. He was born in Northampton, Pa on December 23, 1941, son of the late Kenneth and Marie Schaffer.

Larry Graduated from Central Catholic High school in Allentown, PA in 1959 and upon graduation enlisted in the Navy. After his four-year tour he became employed with McDonald Douglas Aircraft and retired from Boeing after 38 years of faithful service.

He was an avid fisherman and a man of many trades and could fix or build anything, his work was always impeccable and showed his love of his work and he showed some more of his talents when he started building bird houses in his spare time to share with friends, family, and feathered friends.

He was a die-hard football fan and cheered on many teams all the while keeping his loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Larry was a plus in my life and made a positive impact on many lives and will be remember for the love and respect he showed for all; he had a big heart, which ironically was what failed and laid him to rest.

As his wife, he was the love of my life and one thing I will never lose is all those great memories we made together, we were a great team and always work together towards the same gold. He was the highlight of my life and will be greatly missed, I know he will always be close to me and keep watching over me as he has done for 37 years until one day I will see him again.

He has a beautiful family; son Larry Schaffer and daughter Laura Beals (deceased), stepson Brian (Theres Jaffe), sister Mary Ann Dolen, Henderson, Nevada; four Grandchildren Sarah White/Beals, Amanda Beals, Seth Schaffer, Noah Schaffer and 2 great grandchildren Corah White, Sterling White.
