Obituary for Mary "Faith" (Meeker) Trumbull

Mary “Faith” (Meeker) Trumbull
January 7, 1938 – March 23, 2022

“Faith” Trumbull, 84, passed away in her sleep and stepped into Heaven on March 23 at approximately 9:35 pm at Regency Memory Care in Oak Harbor Washington. She was born in Osborne, Kansas 1-7-1938 to Clarence and Maxine Meeker. Her family moved from Kansas to Peoria, Arizona December of 1940.

During childhood Faith suffered a crippling disablement due to a tumor on her brain. Doctors were able to successfully locate and remove the tumor when she was about 5 years old. Many had prayed and seeing God work healing in Faith was such a testimony. Faith went on to attend school and graduated high school in Peoria, AZ. She met Bill Trumbull while working in Peoria as a” Soda Jerk”, as they called it then! Bill was assigned to Luke Air Force Base as a plane mechanic as part of his service from 1955-1959. Bill and Faith were married October 22, 1958 in the Peoria Nazarene Church.

Bill and Faith had two children, Wayne and Julie while in AZ and then in February of 1965 they moved the family to San De Fuca, Coupeville, WA, a beautiful place that Faith would come to love and eventually persuade her parents to move to. Faith and Bill added to their family while in San De Fuca with two more children, Brenda and Brad.

Faith was a homemaker and loved to garden, and work on household projects but mostly keeping up with the kids kept her busy. She loved the beaches and picnics! She loved attending the little Chapel in San De Fuca and was committed to attendance and studies until she could no longer attend. She was a believer and we know she has a new home in Heaven!

Faith volunteered at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville and enjoyed engaging and encouraging patients while making friends everywhere. A little side job in a fun retail shop down on Front Street in Coupeville was a fun hi-light when the kids had grown. Many times Faith would visit friends who were living at one of the assisted living facilities including Regency where she later became a resident. Faith enjoyed visiting and encouraging others. She was kind and thoughtful and could brighten anyone’s day.

Faith is survived by her sister Karianne of Peoria, AZ, all four children, Wayne and wife Julia of Oak Harbor, Julie and husband Jeff of Peoria, AZ, Brenda and husband Jeff of Freeland, WA, and Brad and wife Shelli of Oak Harbor. Faith loved her grandchildren Kirk, Nichelle and Jakob (Wayne); Jacob and Jared (Julie); Seth (Brenda); Alexis and Aaron (Brad). Great grandchildren include Zedd and Zelda (Kirk), Oliver and Amelia (Jacob), and Jace (Jared) as well as nieces and families.

Faith is preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2003, her parents, two nephews, and also one granddaughter.

Memorial service to be held May 7, 2022 at 1 pm at the San De Fuca Community Chapel, 734 N Wall St, Coupeville, WA 98239 and will include refreshments and time to visit and share memories.

Private Interment will occur at family’s convenience at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville.
