Obituary for Michelle Ann "Micke" Loving

Michelle (Micke) Ann Loving passed away suddenly in Oak Harbor, Washington, January 31, 2021, in the arms of her husband.

Born in Patuxent River, Maryland, November 11, 1958 to James (Jimmy) and Bettie Loving, they soon moved to and grew up in Fremont California where she graduated from Mission High School in 1976. She joined the United States Navy in 1978 and became an Aviation Electronics Technician. During her time in the USN she served at the following: NATCC Millington Tennessee (1979-1980), NAS Alameda (1980-1983), NATCC Millington Tennessee (1983-1984), NAS Barbers Point Hawaii (1984-1987), NAS Whidbey Island (1987- 1991), NAS Barbers Point Hawaii (1991-1994), Keesler AFB Biloxi Mississippi (Advanced Calibration School) (1994-1995), and NAS Whidbey Island 1995-1996. She was Honorably Discharged in 1996. She went back to work for the Navy, working at PSD Travel, retiring in 2018.

Family was EVERYTHING to Michelle. She enjoyed time spent with her two daughters, Kristine and Debra, and her 5 grandchildren: Ethan, Audrey, Chloe, Phoebe, and Aiden. She spent many days with them out on soccer fields, at Girl Scout meetings, band concerts, cheering alongside the cheer squads. She was the biggest supporter of anything and everything her kids and grandkids pursued.

Michelle met and fell in love with Allen Burt in 2012 and they were married December 14, 2017. Together, they simply had the best time traveling, enjoying great food at wonderful restaurants, Broadway plays, Seattle Sporting events (GO HAWKS!!) and concerts. Allen truly made Michelle SMILE!

She very well lived up to her name Loving. She showed grace for others in their time of need. She shared her home with people she loved that needed support. She carved out space in her heart and shared it with those needing love and care.

And man, did she love to laugh and enjoy life! If you ever got to know Michelle, you could undoubtedly say she was the most colorful person out there. Figuratively and literally. She loved art, and it showed from her decorated home, her love of sewing to her colorful tattoos. She has painted her story everywhere she could!

She is survived by her mother, Bettie Loving; her sisters, Sandee Metzger (and her family, Tom, Matt, Annalise, Eric Rendon, along with his family Sophia, Hendryx, Dylan, and Brodie) and Lisa Loving (and her family, James and Lela); her daughters, Kristine Smith (and her family, Chip, Chloe, Phoebe and Aiden) and Debra Lang (and her family, Brad, Ethan and Audrey); and her wonderful, loving husband, Allen Burt (and their cats, Murray and Flash); along with all of her family and friends all across the world.

She was preceded in death by her Father, James Martin Loving; her grandmother, Thelma Louise Wilson; her grandmother, Nina; and her cousins, Billy and Wendal.
