PENNY M. MEDCALF, 79, of Oak Harbor, WA, died October 14, 2022. She was born to the late Helen and James Shillitto on June 18, 1943, in Portland, OR. Penny was raised in Portland where she graduated from Wilson High School in 1961. Penny married her beloved husband Ron in 1965. They lived in Oregon after Ron's career with the Air Force until they moved to Oak Harbor, WA in 1998. Penny loved life. She enjoyed her friends and family and meeting new people. She often cited that she was a hugger and would share her affection for others in their first meeting. Penny worked in a number of jobs throughout her life including Dun and Bradstreet, Intel for more than 20 years and most recently enjoyed fish clipping in Washington. She loved her home in Oak Harbor, feeding her squirrels, chipmunks, birds and enjoying her beautiful view. In the last two years, Penny enjoyed companionship with some special friends and her family all while relishing the outdoors, planting flowers, the beauty of Whidbey Island or visiting the beach.

Penny was predeceased by her husband, Ron, her parents, her sisters Ellen Thorton and June Wakehouse and her brother Rudy Kreofsky. Penny is survived by her four daughters: Mechelle Medcalf Nelson of Martinez, CA; Pamela Sterio of Honolulu, HI; Penny Medcalf of Carlton, OR; and Jenny Hulu of Forest Grove, OR. She also is survived by her brothers, Doug Shillitto and Jerry Shillitto, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
