Obituary for Robert H "Bob" Nelson

Robert H. Nelson

Robert H Nelson, “Bob” as he was known, passed away in Bellingham, Wash. Sunday, April 19, 2020, at St. Joseph Medical Center. He was 74.

On Monday, May 28, 1945, Bob was born in Bremerton, Wash. He had one sibling, Nila. Right after Bob graduated high school in Port Orchard, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1966 he met his wife, Georgia, and they were soon married. He drove a taxi in Seattle when he left the Army. Worked in a trainyard in Auburn repairing diesel engines. Bob operated a number of trucks, long hauling, across the country in the Transportation industry. He spent some time employed at Isaacson Steel. Before retiring, Bob joined the Teamsters, and drove for the Seattle Times.

Those surviving Bob are his daughter Elva (William) McArthur, and son Troy (Dee) Nelson; grandchildren Patrick McArthur, Justin (Carmen Spinelli) McArthur; and one great grandchild on the way.

Preceding him in death are his wife Georgia, sister Nila, mother Faye, and father Herman.

A private graveside for Bob will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Wash on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. There, he will be laid to rest next to his beloved Georgia. Military honors are provided under the auspices of the JBLM Army Honor Guard.
