Obituary for Sharon Lynne McLeroy

Sharon Lynne (Comfort) McLeroy was born November 2, 1938 in Tescott, Kansas to Russell & Thyra (Greene) Comfort. When she was 2, they relocated to Bellingham. After high school, she had several different jobs but two that she loved were KVOS TV and Morse Hardware store. She met Jerry McLeroy at a dance and what really caught her eye was his inebriated question "may I please have this dance....please"....a short courtship ensued and they married six months later on March 28, 1962. Being a military wife, she had to endure several moves and many deployments. She was able to join Jerry on one of his deployments in Hong Kong which was a very treasured memory for her. Once Jerry retired in 1980, they settled back in Oak Harbor and Sharon started working for Edward Jones Investments. She was a Branch Office Administrator and was very loved by the clients. At the time when Oak Harbor had a radio station, Sharon would do the investment segment on the radio. She worked at Edward Jones for 24 years and retired simply because her boss had become her son-in-law and wanted to always maintain a good relationship with family! In retirement, she loved playing cards, helping her family with whatever they needed; she was an avid bingo player and loved reading as well. She has three children: Howard Rose, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; Erin Cook (Darin), of Oak Harbor; and Eric McLeroy, of Lake Tapps, WA. Her grandchildren are: Kyle Rose (Melissa); Andrea Herod (Jason); Laura Rose; Brittany Travitz (Ryan); Kassie Rose; Dacotah Juhl (John); London Cook; Kyler Travica; and Gavin McLeroy. She is also survived by her brother Craig Comfort (Trudy), of Bellingham; and lots of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; and her sisters, Elaine Healy and Pamela Comfort
