Obituary for Thomas Lloyd

Thomas Edward Lloyd, beloved Father, Grandfather (Pepere), and Great Grandfather, was called to heaven at age 87 on June 4, 2022. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts August 10, 1934.

Tom enlisted in the Navy in 1955 and married the love of his life, Evelyn Bertrand, in 1957. In 1973 after serving at numerous duty stations on the East Coast, Tom, Evelyn, and their five children, moved from Rhode Island to Oak Harbor, Washington. Tom completed his Naval career doing what he loved, Search and Rescue at NASWI and retired in 1976. After retiring from the Navy, Tom went to work for Boeing and retired (again) in 1995.

Tom and Evelyn enjoyed their years RVing, always visiting family and friends. Traveling coast to coast, great memories were made. Tom was a great socializer and troublemaker, and nothing made him happier than giving someone a hard time. He was a character, and his humor will be missed.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn E. Lloyd, and his eldest son, Thomas F. Lloyd.

Tom is survived by his sons, Michael Sunshine of Arizona, and Timothy Lloyd (Patti) of Montana. Daughters, Lori-Ann Lashua (Randy) of Oak Harbor and Catherine Lang (Karl) of Oak Harbor, 12 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville, Washington, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life for Tom at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
