Memories

I have so many memories of Lucille, most of them centered around family gatherings here in California.  One of my favorite memories is of a camping trip we took to La Jolla Indian Reservation over an Easter weekend.  There was a whole crew of us -- Roger and family, Jackie and Derrick, Alice and Joe, and me and Michael.  Ralph, Lucille and my Mom came up in the camper.  The weather was miserable that weekend, raining and cold.  I remember Lucille saying we were all crazy to be out there camping in that weather, but she hung in there with us, trying to keep warm around the campfire, etc.   It was so fun having both our Moms there.  Another favorite memory I have is when your Mom tried to teach me how to make a pie crust like hers.  I loved her pies -- her crusts were always so light and flakey.  She gave me instructions on her method but I never could duplicate her results.  I remember her laughing and shaking her head when I told her about my failure.  She was probably thinking I was completely hopeless.  I hope all the memories you hold in your hearts will help you through this time of loss.
