Memories of the Secher-Jensen Family

A flood of memories came rushing back when I saw that Mr. Secher-Jensen had passed away and read the beautiful tribute this morning. The Secher-Jensen was a very steady infuence in my younger years. I wouldn't be a skier without the invitations to join the family on their weekends at Steven's Pass. Whether staying in their camper or the Penguin Lodge they were always warm and welcoming. Following Gretta down the mountain was the best ski instruction I ever had. I felt the freedown and joy of night skiing for the very first time and when Mr. Secher-Jensen joined us on the slope it was inspiring. I learned about hard work and commercial fishing watching Gretta repair nets in their backyard. Learning science at OHJS was a joy in Mr. Secher-Jensen's class and it was an honor to care for their black labs when the family was away. I remember a very special family with a very special Mom and Dad.

Please know my thougthts and prayers are with you.

Jo
