I worked for Dick at McCaw Cellular in the 90s. Three quick, fond memories: sweaters, smileys and Old Spice. The first time I went to meet 1:1 with Dick in his office, I started shivering. Nervous? No, he always kept the temperature down and the sweaters on. We still sent printed documents to Dick in those days, and if it came back with a handwritten smiley face we knew he’d read and approved. And when we struggled with how voluminous the marketing plan should be, he showed us the format he wanted: the plan for P&G’s Old Spice. Five pages, max. Farewell, Dick. Best wishes to his family.
