I remember how Robert, and I think we called him Bob, was a loving Dad and dedicated California Peace Officer. During our time, his eldest daughter Patti had two horses in succession, Diablo and Sugar and Spice. Both of those horses were pretty sassy if I recall correctly. One time I house sat for them while they enjoyed vacation travel. It was important not to overfeed the fish in the tank! Bob was looking after his family, enjoying the beauty of California Parks and nature.
Bob always upheld high standards in his conduct, which was in keeping with the reputation of the CHP. The one or two times he gave me a ride to high school in his patrol car he checked it carefully, and gave me some fun pointers as we rode along. Once my parents held a party and Bob declined to have an alcholic beverage even though his patrol duty was nearly a day away. And yes, his smile was memorable and he always had that twinkle in his eye.
Lots of warm memories of Bob and compassion for Patti and Sharon, Suzi and Robert and all family.
