Uncle Jack meeting my sons

It was an incredible day when my sister Laura and family was able to attend my son's wedding in Newport, OR with Uncle Jack. I had the only family I have, attending that special day with me and made it that much better. The last time he had seen all of our kids together, they were between 2 and 9 yrs old.

It was wonderful to all visit together like that. My two older boys are in the Coast Guard and had a common thread with their Great Uncle. They enjoyed his stories of the Navy and were surprised to know that he served in the Coast Guard himself for a short time.

It was an honor to have him as my Uncle and to share my childhood with him when I got to visit. It was an honor to have him attend my son's wedding. I'm glad that a man like him was a father to my sister. He was a wonderful human being and I will truly miss my sweet Uncle Jack.

ps. One funny haha that was recent that I have to tell. Just to stop my bawling! He was driving with someone in his car and butt dialed me! He thought I was Pam and was chattering on and on about what he was doing that day, I didn't have the heart to interrupt him so I let him go on until he finished. I then told him, "Hi Uncle Jack! It's Angela!" He giggled and said "oops!" and we chatted a little more. :0)
