Condolences

Condolence From: The Rev. Dr. Jud Souers
Condolence: Dear Suzanne and Boyer Family: As Pastor Emeritus of the Church at Litchfield Park we bring condolences from all of Don and Suzanne's many friends from the Wigwam and our community. Don was a man of faith, a family man, a veteran and patriot, and the merchant prince who loved the people of Oak Harbor. A few years back, Don and Suzanne where the most gracious of hosts to my wife and I as Don showed off his beloved Oak Harbor to us. He will be missed but we shall see him Glory, thanks be the Grace of God.

Condolence: Suzanne & Family,

I'm so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I didn't know him very well, however he was always very kind to me when I saw him around the clubhouse at Palm Valley and the few times I ran into him at the Wigwam. May your memories carry you through this difficult time. God Bless

Condolence From: Mary Estergreen Johnson
Condolence: Don was three years older than me and I looked up to him. I remember many visits of the "Boyer boys" to the farm, and tagging along to sleep in the haymow, etc. Also remember many many trips to Oak Harbor for holidays, etc. We didn't get together often in the later years, but I am so glad for a visit in their home and going out to lunch in 2013 and seeing Don and Suzanne last year at my sister's 90th birthday party. The Boyer family surely had a big place in my life, especially growing up. May God comfort all of Don's loved ones during this time when his presence is so very greatly missed. Love, Mary

Condolence From: Louise (Estergreen) Lindseman
Condolence: The Estergreen/Boyer cousins spent a lot of time together when we were young. Many times we took the ferry across before the bridge was built to spend a holiday together, leaving in time to milk the cows. Every summer some of the boys would spend time in Clearbrook with their grandmother Estergreen and we would enjoy each other. One summer grandma went with us to spend time in a cabin on the Oak Harbor beach and we climbed cliffs and had fun together. We watched Don's life play out and are very proud of his many accomplishments. We were happy that Don and family came to our family reunions and especially appreciated that he and Suzanne made the trip last summer to my 90th birthday celebration in Tacoma. It was wonderful to have that chance to visit. We know he will be missed by many friends and we send our sympathy and love to all the family. Louise Lindeman and Paul Baughman

Condolence From: Jeannine (Fick) Smith
Condolence: To the Boyer Families: We are so sorry for your loss of such an amazing man as Don. He and Norine lived near us in Penn Cove Park, when we were all young and starting our families. To read here of so many of his accomplishments, interests, and Family relationships is like reading of the growth of Oak Harbor and businesses, and even the growth of schools, "rooting us all" to the Island, even if we branched out, over time. Don had a wonderful sense of humor, sought after when he was still a young man, as a public speaker. I always felt the Boyer names represented "the Oak Harbor" that I knew from 1955 to 1976 and now-beyond: Such-a-loss, again, for the community as well, with Don's passing. ("gone, but never forgotten". RIP)

Condolence From: Diane Colliers ( Smith )
Condolence: The Smith family is very sorry to learn of the passing of Don. We have many fond memories of the times we spent with the Boyer family. My fondest memory was when our dad and Don were painting your family home. All of us kids were in the yard playing when the 2 adults that were painting the house got into a paint fight all of us kids ( after we got over the shock) starting laughing they started chasing us with the brushes. Our moms had been somewhere, and when they got home your mother was playing like she was mad as they got paint all over her tomatoes she was growing in her garden. There are to many more to share. My Dad doesn't travel well now or I would bring him for the service. He has taken the news very hard, Don was like a brother to him.our hearts and prayers are with you all, much love, The Smith Family
