Obituary for Doreen Jeanette Dang

Doreen Jeanette Dang
Doreen Dang

Doreen Dang, age 62, daughter of William W. Dang, a NAS Alameda worker and Doris Dang, went to heaven March 23rd after a two year fight with brain cancer. She grew up in East Oakland, graduated from Oakland High School in 1969 and went on to receive an Associate of Arts in Accounting.
She retired as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service after 35 years and was second in seniority in the Oakland Post Office. She was well liked by her patrons and, once, while on her route, saved a women’s life who had fallen in her home.
She is survived by her brother Will Dang and cousins. She retired in the Great Northwest and was an avid skier, fisherman, and hiker.
She was a devout Christian and a member of The Bridge Christian Fellowship. Her enthusiasm and zeal for life will be missed by friends, family and patrons of her mail routes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the family home, 4491 N. Sunday Drive, followed by an open house until 4:00 pm.
Friends and family are encouraged to offer condolences and share memories utilizing the Book of Memories hosted by Wallin Funeral Home at www.wallinfuneralhome.com.

An additional memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 4pm, at Bay Area Chinese Bible Church, 1801 North Loop Rd., Alameda, CA.
