Obituary for Lois Adele Meier

Lois Adele Meier
LOIS ADELE MEIER
Lois Adele Meier went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2013, at the age of 89. Lois was born October 6, 1923, in Plankington, SD to Ross and Peggy Bunker. As a young girl she moved with her family to Corvallis, Oregon. Following graduation, she was married and moved to Southern California settling first in Pomona and later to Chino.

Lois spent most of her career working as a bookkeeper for Continental Business Services. She enjoyed traveling in Hawaii, Europe and Israel as well as helicopter and hot air balloon rides and line dancing. She cherished the many friends she made over the years. Lois volunteered as bookkeeper at her church, at a Christian counseling center and at the information center at Ontario International Airport, as well as supporting mission ministries. As a member of the Pomona Roamers Club, she enjoyed many fun trips with her friends.

Lois was a member of the Lutheran Church and then Cross Point Christian Reformed Church for many years. In 2010 she moved to Freeland on Whidbey Island to be near her daughters and became a member of the Whidbey Free Evangelical Church. Her strong commitment to Bible Study was instrumental in strengthening her Christian faith. She was a joy and delight to her family.

Lois is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Tom) Martinez of Greenbank and Judy (Arnie) Chase of Wilsonville, OR, and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Graveside committal services will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville on Saturday, July 20, at 11:00am. A celebration of her life will follow at Whidbey Evangelical Free Church, Greenbank, at 1:00pm with Pastors Jim Schultz and Dave Stevenson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Lois can be made to Mission India, PO Box 141312, Grand Rapids MI 49514 or to the benevolent fund of Whidbey Evangelical Free Church, 874 Plantation Drive, Greenbank, WA 98253.
