Mr. Smith was the greatest man that I had the pleasure of meeting and serving with in the United States military. Smitty was a man filled with knowledge. In my eyes he was a man that knew everything and if he didn't know something he would get on the phone or in a book and find the answer to any question or problem. He helped guide me in my Naval career and helped me become a better Sailor. He was one squared away Sailor and one of the most honorable men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was a mentor to me. I am very thankful that I had the pleasure of having him in my families life. REST IN PEACE and I will see you in a better place in the future.
