By far the best CO I ever worked under. A few things stand out when I think of those days. First, all sailors on the Connie knew the last place they wanted to be was standing in front of Captain Bull at Captains Mast :). Second, when the whole crew assembled to hear Captain Bull speak, the entire crew would break out shouting Bull, Bull, Bull. May not sound like much now, but back then it was very cool. Last, when Captain Bull gave his goodbye speech in the hanger bay of the USS Constellation. This big tough man broke down with tears in his eyes. He loved his crew and we felt the same about him.
